When I was a munchkin playing "wannna-be-programmer" and =
"Wanna-be-hacker" by being locked-up in a little dark room with about 20 =
PC's cabled-together and a few immensely socially-hopeless goggle-faced =
closet nerd, everybody loved Linux DEBIAN version. We used to Really =
Like SuSe alot to (This is way, way back in pre-century 1990's, like =
elementary school, even pre-school for most/maybe jr-high at-best, =
historic kiddie days, so it's pretty far outa-date now). And everybody =
used to nickname what was "Then" called "Redhat" as Red-Fart.......
But that's like 7, 8+ years back in time now.=20
Haven't had much of any long contact or heavy conversation with any of =
the ole-club Linux-mega-Geeks and goggle-faced-nerds in atleast a couple =
yrs or more now.
Needing to know which versions are hot and which are best"for what =
purposes" of all the versions....I "had" once been around Debian quite =
alot and know it was "once" a major passion with the =
goggle-faces...hehe....I've "been" quite a bit around=20
......because another somewhat liked one was Mandrake among the =
starting-out IT eggheads "was" SuSe
.. I even head an almost 2yr head-burial, and obviously I've =
experienced what was then joked-about in little nerd rooms as =
"Red-Fart", even if it is more "universally" used and "sometimes" even =
compatible than quite a few of the other 0 or 10 versions for general =
networking use and OS interchange.
Now that I've been brought back 180-degrees into Linux again, after over =
half-a-decade face-first in RegEdit,NT,XP, and, I confess, Vista... I'm =
looking for any "CURRENT DAY" opinions for "any" possibility of current =
mega-hardcore, or atleast active, present Linux users? ....i.e. in =
idiot terms: Which versions do you think are which in a couple =
sentences to a paragraph.=20
And which ones are more the "This ones for the moron customer that wants =
to try Linux, but also needs it kind of easy to use, adaptable and =
really, really, major-retard proof" (This answer would once "HAVE" been, =
"probably Red-Fart" way back when in like 1994-96 days of =
anciency...lol....)
.....and which one's the "This puppy slams the security gate shut =
DEAD-TIGHT, with pretty-near absolute, military-vengeance!" version..
and finally which one's the "This one's the wet-dream for the graphics =
or software-developing mega-egghead geekoids" version right now????
