WTB: sign / banner / billboard program |
| Body: |
Hi gang,
First post here. I am a 98SE user contemplating finally making the jump to
Linux. I am going on a road trip this Saturday from Seattle to Fort
Lauderdale in a nice "like new" 74 Mazda REPU truck I bought. To keep my
traveling companion (and myself) amused during this long trip I was thinking
of booting a laptop off PuppyLinux via the USB port and sending a video
signal to a flat screen in the rear flat window of the pickup truck.
I was hoping to find a program similar to the text program at:
http://www.antssoft.com/swftext/index.htm
I just want to create a bunch of "billboards" that might consist of several
lines of text. Anyone here remember the Burma after shave slogans posted on
successive billboards lining the highways in the 50s ?

It would be nice if, once I have several "signs" set up ... that the program
would "slideshow" thru them for me automatically.
This could generate quite a few laughs and / or controversy as we drive
during our "ROAD TRIP" !
Can anyone suggest a program that would do these things and run in Linux ?
Thanks in advance.
A soon to be Linux user ... hopefully !
