Cult members are far more likely to come
from Republican backgrounds.
According to a Reuters article
on cults in the USA the majority
(87%)of several hundred cultists interviewed
came from Republican backgrounds.
Nearly all scored high on conservative
religious beliefs, patriotism, and faith
in authority. The study was conducted
at George Washington University.
