  Subject:   The paradox of fear
Body:   What is the biggest problem with fear? What makes it so powerful? Here
is the answer to these questions: You believe it before you see it. It
should be exactly the opposite way, right?

Let me tell you how it works.

You are standing before a type of a situation, which you never
experienced before. You try to guess the possible outcome of that
situation and you make up horrible negative images in your mind. You
believe that the situation is going to turn out bad.  At the end, you
will choose one of the following two options.

1.        You avoid the situation.
2.        You face the situation, but you cannot behave naturally, because
your mind is so full with those negative images.

I am going to tell you something that may seem a little bit strange
and counterintuitive, but if you can spend five minutes to think about
it, you will find that I am telling the truth.

We humans see what we believe and not the other way.

Here is a short example: You look at the sky. You see an airplane. You
believe that you see a passenger aircraft controlled by a human pilot.
But what would an African bushman believe? He would believe that he
sees some kind of god flying across the sky. You both see the same
thing, but you have different beliefs about it. It is silly example
but you get what I am trying to say.

So, what can you do about it?

You use a trick. Yes, that=92s right. You have to fool your mind. You
have to change your beliefs. Get rid of the negative images and make
space for the new, positive ones. Imagine the very best outcome of
that situation, imagine yourself as a successful person. Or go even
further.

Think about yourself as a successful person. I believe that this is
the most powerful mind-trick. You are what you think you are. You
probably heard this before, but it is true. Never forget that!
