Hi,
My friends and spent 2 weeks creating this website: Atlaspost (URL:
http://us.atlaspost.com/main.php?&mt=3D83)
This is our first try. Basically it=92s a mash-up with blog, album,
message board, and map. The main feature here is that you can post
yourself onto the map, which means that you can locate your
neighborhood, your posts, and your albums using Google Map. Like a
virtual memory box with both time and spatial dimensions, it=92s an
alternative and neat way(I think) to record our lives.
It is built mainly with PHP+MySQL(If you ask me why, the answer would
be =93Because it=92s easy, it=92s powerful, and it=92s FREE!). Also we used
AJAX and several open APIs. For example, you could log in with your
Yahoo! account and there is no need to register a new account, and
Google Maps API is very handy for developers.
It is a simple prototype with basic functions now. We are keep
improving the usability and planning to add some more features such as
mini-feed, atlas post-it(twitter like personal status), and other
social networking mechanisms.
