Short jaunt along Boot pond (turkey farm rd) road this evening....
admidst snipe, fox and other earlier show-ups singing... came the
wonderful sound of the our first Hermit Thrush. The airport Nor.
Harrier is back and Merlin sightings have also been reported. At 66
Curtiss yesterday we had 4 Red Crossbills (2m2f) feeding on the ground
beneath a (1/2 empty) niger seed bag. They were in company with a few
siskin and eve. grosbeak. Could be same birds as visited earlier on
Curtiss (april) and also reported by Nick Soper on Wilcockson Cres.
around mid-winter.
